At VRTO 2022, Pixomondo showcases its virtual production work on large-scale streaming shows like “Star Trek” to smaller, short-form commercial work. Learn what goes into pulling it all off successfully and meet the artists, producers, and technicians responsible for the magic.

Workshop - Day 1 - July 20th

Virtual Production Workshop Presented by Pixomondo

Meet with Oscar and Emmy Award-winning VFX and Virtual Production House Pixomondo and its Virtual Production Academy to learn how VP content is made for such shows as Star Trek: Discovery, Strange New Worlds, and more.

Take a journey through one of the Unreal projects from these shows, from first mesh to final shoot. Find out how the Virtual Art Department works in hand with the DPs. Directors, other PXO departments, and the stage crew, to get a final frame in-camera.

Workshop - Day 2 - July 21st

Low Poly Performance Art: How VR and Ancient Theater History Reveal the "Invisible Body"

Learn techniques to utilize the expressive potential of embodied movement in webVR. A special live performance workshop features Award-winning Performer, educator, Ari Tarr going on a deep dive for the secrets to using WebXR as the greatest expressive stage in history by updating ancient theater techniques. In partnership with Active Replica, a company creating Cross-platform 2D and 3D virtual spaces and events that allow for true-to-life communication through conversation, movement, activities and entertainment. The workshop is assisted by Tyler Graham, co instructor and virtual theater PhD student
