Heather Dunaway Smith is an interdisciplinary artist and storyteller known for her innovative work in interactive experiences and XR artworks. Starting her career in NYC studying playwriting, Heather transitioned into a role at Apple, where she explored the creative potential of computers and interactive storytelling, leading her to pursue a degree in Interactive Multimedia. Since then, her career has spanned a diverse range of projects, from award-winning games and apps to virtual worlds and museum installations.
She was awarded an Adobe AR art residency and was part of the first cohort of creators to build mixed reality experiences for Snap’s AR glasses and Meta’s Quest headsets. Her work has been exhibited globally, including prestigious events such as Art Basel/Miami Art Week and Adobe Max, where she was a featured speaker and curated the 2022 AR Art Gallery, highlighting her contributions to the XR art scene and the future of interactive media.
