Amar Trivedi is a software engineer and research lead specializing in the development of intelligent, high-impact systems at the intersection of artificial intelligence, machine learning, and immersive technology.
As a Principal Investigator at Durham College, Amar leads applied research projects funded by NSERC and IRAP, collaborating with cross-disciplinary teams to develop innovative solutions in machine learning, large language models (LLMs), and Mixed Reality (MR). He has extensive experience working with XR hardware, designing and deploying applications that blend virtual, augmented, and mixed reality for training and simulation.
Amar’s technical foundation spans backend architecture, cloud deployment, and AI development with frameworks including PyTorch, LangChain, and Llama.cpp. His machine learning work includes building and training neural networks for tasks such as time-series forecasting, classification, and generative applications, with a focus on practical integration into real-world systems.
He has delivered production-grade applications, incorporating cutting-edge innovations such as Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), 3D Gaussian Splatting, and LLM-powered agents into tools used in financial services, data visualization, and XR-based training.
