Social VR and Virtual Theater: Expression and Interaction Within Virtual Worlds

Social VR is seen by many as the “killer app” for this new technology. In this talk, we’ll examine the current state of the art in this field, and look ahead to where technology has to go in order to bring us truly immersive social experiences in VR. We’ll also explore the intersection of Social VR with virtual theatre, and see how techniques from the oldest medium can be applied to the newest. While this talk will discuss some of the technology involved, it is aimed at a general audience.
