This talk explores the technical and environmental design challenges behind building effective VR training for the workforce. Designing simulations that replicate complex machinery and high-risk scenarios often means working within tight physical spaces, optimizing every polygon, and engineering systems that feel realistic while staying safe and stable.
We’ll look at how custom-built peripherals like driving rigs are used to create tactile realism, how large-scale simulations are delivered in physically small environments, and how mixed reality helps extend those environments beyond their walls. From hardware constraints to safety considerations, this session offers a grounded look at the behind-the-scenes work required to turn VR into a reliable, scalable tool for workforce development.
