Welcome to the dynamic world of 360 audio. We will discuss the gear and best practices that can lead to capturing audio that enhances the 360/VR experience. Where old techniques meet new technology. We will also talk about the hand off to post-production and what it’s like to work in the Wild West of an emerging industry.

Joe Powers | Powerful Stache

Joe Powers is the owner of Powerful Stache Studio and an Emmy Nominated post-production sound designer/mixer in his 20th year in the Washington DC market. He has mixed everything from promos for advertising on TV, radio, cable, and online; to podcasts, 360/VR audio, and full-length original documentaries. His work in the 360/VR space has taken him out of the studio and into the production world. He feels it’s imperative to do what you love, stay hungry, and keep learning. Joe has a Bachelor of Music from Duquesne University and continues to play bass in multiple bands.
